talkSPORT pundits clash live on air after West Ham United win v Tottenham, ‘Are you winding me up?’

Jamie O’Hara, Dean Saunders and Jason Cundy clashed live on air after West Ham secured a victory over Tottenham on Thursday (7 December).

Speaking on talkSPORT after the game, pundit O’Hara went on a rant about how Spurs, his former team, “can’t get beat” by the Hammers after James Ward-Prowse’s goal earned a 2-1 win for his side.

Saunders and Cundy both then responded by saying the Irons are a good team, with an angry O’Hara asking them “are you winding me up?” before going on another tirade about how poorly the North London club performed.

“We’ve lost four out of five and we got a point against Manchester City in the dying moments,” said O’Hara. “I know the squad is thin, I know it isn’t great, but come on. That’s still a good team out there, you can’t get beat. You can’t get beat by West Ham, you can’t.”

“West Ham are a decent team,” responded a baffled Saunders.

“They are a good side, mate,” added Cundy.

“Are you winding me up, lads?” asked O’Hara.

“No, they’re a decent team West Ham,” replied Saunders.

“They’re doing alright West Ham,” said Cundy.

“Alright, yeah, they’re a good side,” an animated O’Hara replied. “But you can’t lose that game as a Tottenham fan, as Tottenham players, as the managers knows. We’ve picked up one point in four and we go into the West Ham game, you can’t lose that game.”

How times change

It wasn’t that long ago that O’Hara was speaking about how good this new Tottenham team are and was making fun of West Ham’s Europa Conference League victory last season.

Fast forward a few weeks and Spurs are without a win in their last five Premier League matches, with the Hammers sitting just three points behind them in the table.

After starting the game well, the North Londoners lost their way in the second half as the Irons upped the tempo and forced errors to get back into the match.

West Ham

The goals from Jarrod Bowen and Ward-Prowse really showed the frailties in the Spurs backline as we went on to secure another famous win at their stadium.

The players can now look to use this as momentum over the next few weeks as we’ve got some big games coming up in what will be a hectic period for the club.

In other West Ham news, a journalist has shared why a Premier League side are considering selling a Hammers-linked player.
