Stuart Pearce insists West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen has more to give

Stuart Pearce has raved over West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen whilst insisting he could get an England call up for the Nations League games this summer.

The former Hull City man has been the stand out performer for the Hammers this season, bagging 26 goals in all competitions whilst being linked to a number of moves away from east London.

Despite his scintillating form, Pearce believes that Bowen hasn’t finished improving as a player and will continue to get “better and better”.

“I don’t see why he couldn’t,” said Pearce as per football.london.

“He’s playing well, he’s scoring goals, we’re playing well as a team. He’s a fantastic lad who wants to learn and wants to get better.

“The important thing, as well, is that he will improve. I don’t think he’s the finished article and I think he’ll get better and better.”

He added: “If he has a strong end to the season, the team are doing particularly well, he might be in the Nations League games in June.”

Star man.

Bowen has been the surprise package this season. Last year he showed glimpses of the player he could be but the 25-year-old was nowhere near consistent enough.

This season has seen him take the Premier League and Europe by storm in claret & blue and long may it continue.

The forward more than deserves his England call up and if he wasn’t injured in the last lot of international games there is no doubt at all that Gareth Southgate would have picked him.

The attacker has been miles better than any other Three Lions attacker this season and it will be a farce if he doesn’t get his chance with the national team ahead of the Qatar World Cup at the end of the year.

The only dangerous thing about his impressive form is the teams that will come sniffing. Hopefully, the Hammers keep them at arm’s length because with Rice’s future under threat it would be a shame to lose the second-best player in Bowen.

In other West Ham news, Carlton Cole and Joe Cole were left in awe of rarely seen Hammer’s Europa League displays.
