Steidten sack: West Ham in advanced talks after Rush Green news
Kyle Macaulay is in advanced talks to become the new head of recruitment at West Ham, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports News reporter claims that the Hammers are set to appoint Macaulay who has worked with Graham Potter before during his time at Chelsea.
According to Sheth’s sources, the appointment means that Tim Steidten will leave his role at The London Stadium as he has not been leading the recruitment during the transfer window.
Kyle Macaulay set for Graham Potter reunion at West Ham
Although the Irons have brought in a number of good signings during Steidten’s time with the club, for many there is a feeling of fatigue with the technical director after a lot of money was spent during the summer transfer window that has not paid off.
Potter is known for his ability to take young players and make something of them rather than going for higher-profile players which may have meant a misalignment between the two parties when working together anyway.

Therefore, bringing Macaulay into the club suggests there will be a shift in the way transfer business is done in East London and given the relationship between him and the boss previously, this will surely be a success.
As the Irons look forward and anticipate more successful times, David Sullivan seems to have got the idea that something needs to change at The London Stadium and unfortunately for Steidten, that means his head is on the chopping block as Potter brings fresh eyes to the project.
