Spotted: West Ham United ace Jarrod Bowen reflects on first day with England

West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen has reflected on his first day away with the England squad at St George’s Park.

The Irons ace enjoyed a rather successful season last time out as the team’s most prolific man in front of goal – tallying 31 goal involvements in all competitions.

That saw the Hammer receive his debut call up last week to help Gareth Southgate and the Three Lions in their Nations League clashes against Hungary, Germany and Italy.

Bowen took to Twitter to share images of him mixing with his England colleagues – including Tammy Abraham, Jack Grealish, Mason Mount, Connor Coady and his London Stadium teammate Declan Rice.

“First day in camp done,” he said “Enjoyed that with the lads.”

Deserved.

Wow. What a season Bowen had at West Ham last season. Everybody knew his potential but since arriving at the club, his consistency was a major issue.

The 25-year-old was clearly just finding his feet in Premier League and the Irons team because this season he has been nothing short of incredible.

Everybody at the club wants the former Hull City man to smash it – another Hammer representing the club on an international stage, for England, is only a good thing and long may it continue.

It comes as somewhat of a double-edged sword in a lot of ways as seen with his east London teammate, Rice.

The midfielder flew relatively well under everyone’s radar, but a brilliant European Championship campaign saw a host of teams sit up and pay attention.

Hopefully, Bowen doesn’t now find himself under the microscope of teams wanting to prise him away from David Moyes’s side in the future.

Irons fans are already nervous enough that Liverpool might come in for him with Sadio Mane looking set to leave Anfield at the end of the season.
