Spotted: Lucas Paqueta leaves Rush Green in Ferrari amid speculation at West Ham United

Lucas Paqueta has been spotted leaving Rush Green at the same time as the rest of the West Ham squad, according to Sean Whetstone.

The 6foot2 editor tweeted on Wednesday (31 January) that there are hopes that the Brazilian international has now resumed training as he continues his recovery from a calf injury.

He added that the 26-year-old attacking midfielder drove past fans waiting outside the training ground in his distinctive silver Ferrari ahead of the Irons’ game against Bournemouth on Thursday (1 February).

Positive

This is a massive positive for West Ham as it looks as though Paqueta is edging closer to a return to action after missing the past few weeks.

If he has indeed started training again with the rest of the squad, then it shouldn’t be too long before he is back lining up in claret and blue.

The Brazilian’s absence has been missed in recent weeks after he limped off in the early stages of the FA Cup game against Bristol City on 7 January at the London Stadium.

The Hammers have failed to win either game while he’s been out of the side, having been dumped out of the cup in the replay against the Robins and being held to a draw against Sheffield United on 21 January.

It’s unlikely that he’ll be back to face Bournemouth, but perhaps there’s a chance he could make the squad for the game against Manchester United on 4 February.

In other West Ham news, a profit and sustainability situation has emerged in one Premier League club’s pursuit of a Hammers player.
