‘Spot on’, ‘Out of touch’ – Some West Ham fans have mixed reactions to Klopp striker praise
Some West Ham fans have had mixed reactions following Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s comments about Sebastien Haller.
Ahead of Saturday’s game against the Hammers, Klopp praised West Ham’s record signing who is the top scorer in all competitions for David Moyes’ side.
In his pre-match press conference, Klopp said he was familiar with Haller after his time in the Bundesliga and praised the striker’s speed and physicality.
Haller hasn’t quite performed as well as some fans expected following his reported £45 million transfer from Frankfurt last season. The Frenchman has scored 12 goals in 41 competitive appearances for the Hammers which suggests West Ham haven’t quite got value for money from their record transfer.
The 26-year-old looks set to lead the line when the Hammers play Liverpool as Michail Antonio will miss the game through injury. This could be the opportunity Haller needs to find some consistent form in the league as Antonio could be out for a month, meaning the Frenchman should have a solid run of games in the team.
Some Hammers fans have reacted differently to Klopp’s comments. Some have said that the Liverpool boss is correct and Moyes should be getting more from Haller. While others have called the German manager ‘out of touch’.
Here are how some West Ham fans reacted on social media:
Hopefully, Haller can get his West Ham career back on track with a goal or two against Liverpool on Saturday.
In other West Ham news, according to a report Michail Antonio wants to spend the rest of his career with the Hammers.
