Southampton will not battle West Ham to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja this summer
Southampton are reportedly not in the race to sign West Ham target and Chelsea forward Armando Broja this summer.
According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, the Saints deem his transfer fee and wages too high and weren’t really impressed by his form towards the back end of the 2021/22 season.
The Hammers are keen on securing their second major signing this summer and have identified the Albanian as a priority.
Crook wrote on Twitter, “Understand #SaintsFC are not competing with #WHUFC for Armando Broja. They view wages and transfer fee as too high. Don’t think his form in the second half of the season helped either.”
No competition?
It appears that the field is now clear for the Hammers to secure their second signing of the summer.
Broja appears to be the player David Moyes wants and it’s time to reward the manager who’s struggled with his options in the past.

Michail Antonio has been converted into a number nine and while he’s done decently, he is on the wrong side of 30 and injuries are catching up with him.
The Jamaican cannot be the club’s first-choice striker for next season and Moyes knows that.
This is why he must force the hierarchy to secure the services of Broja sooner rather than later so that he can have his services available for the start of the pre-season.
He is a proven goal scorer and Southampton may not want any more of him but he could fire West Ham to the next level and we’re backing him to be a good signing for the club.
