Sky Sports: West Ham in advanced talks for Said Benrahma
West Ham United are closing in on the signing of Brentford winger Said Benrahma, according to Sky Sports.
It is reported that the two London clubs are in advanced talks over a deal for the Algerian, that should be completed sooner rather than later.
Premier League clubs can still sign players from the EFL up until the second deadline which is next Friday in the United Kingdom.
According to Sky Sports, the Hammers are closing in on a deal worth up to £30million for the Algerian winger.
Despite the Irons closing in, it is suggested that Crystal Palace also remain interested in Benrahma – although no offers have been made by the Eagles.
Brentford have already sold Ollie Watkins to Aston Villa, and are now prepared to let Benrahma follow him through the exit door.
With the fee standing at around £30million, it is expected that the deal will be done with significant add-ons and instalments.
Jarrod Bowen has cemented his spot down the right-hand side at the London Stadium, so it is likely that Benrahma will play down the right.
Pablo Fornals has impressed in recent weeks on the left-hand side, but the Spaniard has never quite hit the heights expected of him at the Irons.
David Moyes will be delighted to bring in a player of Benrahma’s class, but it still doesn’t answer his problem in the heart of defence – that needs fixing this week.
