Sky Sports expert shares when Lucas Paqueta returns to West Ham United training

West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is set to return to training this week, as per injury specialist, Ben Dinnery.

The Sky Sports injury expert has suggested that it could be the “final phase” of recovery for the Hammers midfielder as he recovers from the shoulder injury.

The Hammers midfielder has missed the last four games, and there is a possibility that he could return to action this week against Crystal Palace.

“He is expected to re-join first-team training this week,” said Dinnery to Give Me Sport.

“So, it would be a case of that final phase of his recovery and with it being a shoulder or sort of collarbone injury, that will mean full contact training for him.

“So, in terms of his baseline fitness levels and that sharpness, he would have done a lot of work in the gym, he will have done a lot of training, but it’s that reintegration with the squad, you can never 100 per cent say with certainty that he’s going to come through that without any kind of reaction.”

Badly needed

The Hammers badly need him to return to action at the earliest.

He has only shown flashes of brilliance so far, and big things are expected of him.

It is unlikely that he will make his comeback in the Europa Conference League clash with FCSB on Thursday.

The Hammers host Crystal Palace in a London derby this week, and it will be interesting to see if he returns to the squad.

West Ham

Maxwel Cornet is another player who has also missed a lot of games this season, and he is also likely to return this week.

The Hammers have won just twice in their last five games. They lost their last two away games, and they are banking on their home form instead.

West Ham should be aiming to win their next two Premier League home games before the World Cup break. Moyes will hope that Paqueta can make some valuable contributions.
