Sky Sports expert predict result of West Ham clash v Crystal Palace

West Ham will be aiming to secure back to back Premier League wins away from home when they face Crystal Palace on Saturday at Selhurst Park.

The Hammers returned to winning ways with a thumping 4-1 victory against Watford in their previous game, but the London derby expects to be a difficult challenge.

Sky Sports expert, Lewis Jones has predicted a 2-2 draw for this fixture, with both the sides evenly matched for his game.

West Ham

“Selhurst Park is one ground that absolutely can make a huge difference for a home team,” Jones wrote for Sky Sports.

“Palace have lost just one of their 10 home matches this season, however, that record is perhaps a little skewed as they have yet to face any of the current top six in south London.

“Hammers are very strong against lower-ranked opposition and will be a massive threat from set-pieces.”

Confident

Palace are an entertaining team to watch under Patrick Vieira, and they are a strong side at home.

The Eagles have beaten the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Everton already at home, and they are capable of giving West Ham a strong fight.

The Hammers have gone through a mini-spell of a bad run, where they lost four out of their last five games prior to their visit to Vicarage Road.

The victory against Watford has not only lifted the pressure off Moyes but also brought them back into the mix for the top-four race.

West Ham usually do well against teams below them, and these are the games they need to win to secure the elusive Champions League spot.

Declan Rice is expected to return following his suspension. The 22-year-old will play his 150th appearance for the club, should he feature on Saturday.

It could be a tight affair but the Hammers should be confident of picking up all three points from this fixture.
