Simon Jordan: West Ham United may get £40million+ windfall before the end of the season

Simon Jordan has predicted a potential major windfall for West Ham United this season of up to £50million.

The talkSPORT host insisted that winning the Europa League would bring great financial rewards for the Irons.

Not only winning it, but the automatic qualification in the Champions League for next season would bring this huge windfall.

Speaking on the latest episode of One 2 One on talkSPORT’s YouTube channel, Jordan predicted the financial benefits of Europe.

“David Moyes has taken West Ham to a level of attainment, and a level of belief inside the squad that has carried them through a season,” he said.

“It may just get them to win a major trophy [ ], which may just get them into the Champions League, which may just get them an extra £40-50million, which may just get them an extra raft of players attracted because of the Champions League lure.

“But, he may get none of that.”

West Ham

Licking their lips.

David Gold and Sullivan will be licking their lips at this potential further windfall coming the way of the club.

Of course, it would give them the perfect chance to pump it into transfers without actually taking it out of their own back pocket.

The Hammers would win the Europa League before the end of the season, but it is unknown when the money would actually come through.

Having said all of that, it is still down to this squad to go out and do the business, something that is easier said than done.

Frankfurt smashed Barcelona over two legs in the previous round, so they will be no pushovers, and even after that RB Leipzig or an all British final with Rangers would be on the cards.

If you want these major windfalls and the chance to play in the Champions League, you have to go out and earn it.

Bring it on.
