Simon Jordan slams David Sullivan at West Ham, Jim Whites hits back

Simon Jordan has slammed David Sullivan over the West Ham United plans to increase the capacity of the London Stadium.

Speaking on talkSPORT this afternoon, Jordan claimed the expansion of the stadium is simply a commercial transaction.

This comes after the club announced yesterday that they have received permission to increase the capacity to 62,500, this will make it the second-largest capacity in the Premier League, overtaking London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal.

Jordan feels that this move is all about money, he said: “The increasing of the stadium isn’t a goodwill gesture. It’s not a charity. It’s because they’re going to make more revenue from it. It’s a commercial transaction.

“They’re difficult people to deal with, David Sullivan is a difficult person to deal with.

Jim White hit back at those claims and questioned his co-host strongly over his repeated claims about the Irons owners.

“But why? You always tell me that, why? I find them very straightforward to deal with.”

Agenda.

The former Crystal Palace chairman clearly seems to have an agenda on his mind here, with White even claiming that he consistently tells him that.

To fans, this development looks good, it reflects the positivity and success around the club at this current time. The ability to house more West Ham fans is a good thing.

However, Jordan doesn’t see it this way.

He sees it from the perspective of a chairman or owner, in terms of the financial implications involved. Of course, this will bring more revenue to the club, with more ticket sales, but from a fan’s perspective, it’s hard to see the negatives.

As long as they can see the money being put back into the club, there’s very little to begrudge.

At the moment, it’s very hard to bring Hammers fans down, after a great victory against Man City in the Carabao Cup last night and a well-fought win against rivals Spurs last weekend.

In other West Ham United news, this is what Michail Antonio said to Cristian Romero in the win over Tottenham.
