Simon Jordan has shared what David Moyes told him about fans calling into talkSPORT and wanting him sacked from West Ham United.
Writing in the Daily Mail (11 October), Jordan claimed that the Hammers boss was “irritated” that the call-ins were demanding his dismissal from the London Stadium.
Jordan admitted he thought Moyes’ time at West Ham was over after their interaction before the Scotsman turned the club’s fortunes around.

Jordan wrote: “He showed signs of being a bit flimsy, a bit fragile. I had a conversation with him at a function where he was irritated that radio phone-ins were suggesting he should be sacked and running polls on his future.
“My comment to him was: ‘Moysie, that’s the price on the ticket for you highly-paid football managers’. I walked away thinking he sounded like he was done. It just shows how much I knew!”
Turnaround
Moyes would understandably be frustrated at Hammers fans calling for his head. During spells of his tenure at the club, there have been some troublesome times and the threat of relegation has never been a distant memory.
However, consistent European football and a trophy later, West Ham would do very well to find a boss like Moyes. As Jordan notes too, being a Premier League manager comes with its drawbacks, and if things aren’t going well, there will always be a target on someone’s back.

Fans are always going to have their say, for better or for worse, but Moyes’ situation shows that often seeing a side through a storm can reap rewards. Jordan’s anecdote also shows Moyes’ resilience. He’s a man who’s not been short of criticism in his career, whether it be at Manchester United, Everton or his initial stint at West Ham.
But Moyes is far from “done” in Stratford, even despite rumblings of discontent during the summer between him and technical director Tim Steidten, and their start to the new season in all competitions suggests nothing but an even stronger Hammers outfit.
While a repeat of their Europa Conference League heroics could be a step too far for the Hammers this season, Moyes would surely be the man to take them there.
In other West Ham news, a journalist has predicted a Hammers ace to give his international manager “food for thought”.
