Simon Jordan reacts to David Moyes, Tim Steidten development emerges at West Ham United
Simon Jordan has reacted live on air after it was reported that West Ham technical director Tim Steidten had been banned from the club’s dressing room.
The Daily Mail reported [2 May] that Steidten had been banned from the Hammers’ dressing room and training ground as speculation continues surrounding David Moyes’ future at the club.
The London side have already been linked with a string of potential replacements for the Scot, who has been under considerable pressure this season at the London Stadium.
Speaking live via talkSPORT on Friday (3 May, 12:22pm), Jordan said: “David has obviously taken exception to something.
“I don’t think that’s a sustainable position in the longer term, that someone who occupies a position of influence over player acquisition and youth development policies should be excluded from the training ground.
“I think this is just a moment in time where David is unhappy with the landscape and how he is being treated by sections of the West Ham fanbase.
“In most instances, a manager who has achieved what David has achieved would be given plaudits. A lot of what David has achieved has been caveated with people’s unhappiness about how the team plays.
“I don’t think it’s the ideal look. I thought David might have been able to rise above it with just three games to go, and what happens now is just relatively incidental because the dye has been cast. I don’t see the point of it.”
West Ham United drama arises as David Moyes edges closer to exit
Jordan speaks a lot of sense when it comes to Moyes’ tenure at West Ham. The Scot certainly deserves a lot of praise for helping the club to their first European title in multiple decades.
However, football is a results-based sport, and while he can continue to live off the European success from last season, the Hammers have suffered several extremely poor results particularly since the turn of the year.
The recent 5-2 defeat to Crystal Palace is just the tip of the iceberg, with frustrating losses to Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Manchester United, Bristol City and Liverpool, all since December.
Moyes has mostly been criticised for his defensive style of play at the London Stadium, especially with the number of attacking talents currently on show at the club.

Many fans feel that Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus need more license to attack, while the players need to take more ownership and possession of the ball rather than playing on the counterattack.
The recent drama that has emerged only cements the idea that this will be Moyes’ last season in charge as the club continues to search for a replacement. It is certainly a shame that it has ended like this.
