Simon Jordan makes brutal Daniel Kretinsky jibe amid West Ham scenes

West Ham’s board are taking the majority of the flak for the poor start to the season.

West Ham are genuine contenders for relegation, as they sit in 19th place in the Premier League with just one win from seven.

Nuno Espirito Santo was brought in by West Ham, after Graham Potter was dismissed from his duties as first-team manager.

However, that has not eased the concerns of the fanbase at the London Stadium.

Simon Jordan takes aim at Daniel Kretinsky amid West Ham chaos

West Ham supporters are planning to boycott the Brentford clash on 20 October, as part of a protest against the ownership.

David Sullivan and Karren Brady are the principal targets, but Daniel Kretinsky, who owns approximately 27 per cent of the Hammers, has been caught in the crossfire.

The Czech businessman is the head of the Royal Mail, who have just been fined £21million for missing delivery targets, per BBC News.

Simon Jordan picked up on that in a segment discussing the protests on talkSPORT with a brutal dig at the 50-year-old, saying: “You’ve got a guy in that has bought a significant portion of it, who is now responsible for the Royal Mail, that is getting fined £25million, for not being able to deliver parcels on time, no wonder they can’t deliver any points.”

Kretinsky has kept his name out of West Ham discontent

Much of the Hammers supporters’ frustration is directed at Sullivan and Brady, rather than the Czech investor.

Kretinsky purchased his stake in the Irons in 2021, and is the second-largest shareholder in East London, but he has kept himself out of the spotlight, while the others take the criticism on the nose.

While Jordan’s jibe is slightly off on the figures, it was £21m rather than the £25m that he suggested, he is right, it is concerning for supporters, and will only heighten their feelings about the board.

Kretinsky may find himself dragged into future narratives as a result of the Royal Mail developments, and it may not be so easy for him to hide in the shadows at Rush Green anymore.
