Simon Jordan gushes over David Moyes, ‘my word West Ham United are lucky to have him’

West Ham are lucky to have David Moyes after what he has achieved at the club, according to Simon Jordan.

Writing on the Daily Mail website on Wednesday (11 October), the pundit said the Hammers manager should be “cherished and celebrated”.

He added that the Scotsman is beginning to earn the right to be in the conversation for one of the “marquee sides” again, but urged him to continue with the Irons because it’s a “great job”.

“Moyes looks re-energised this season too, he’s a better version of the manager we saw take over at Old Trafford in 2013 and would certainly be better equipped to manage Manchester United than he was ten years ago,” said Jordan.

He suffered the consequences but now Moyes is back to being the man that was good enough to be United’s chosen one. He has been through massive adversity, overcome significant pitfalls and has the battle scars from a very difficult period of his career when he made bad choices at Real Sociedad and bad observations and outcomes at Sunderland.

“He’s still only 60 but seems to have been around forever. This is someone who should be cherished and celebrated and my word West Ham are lucky to have him. “

Good for each other

It’s been well and truly proven over the past few years that West Ham and Moyes are good for each other after the steps forward the club have taken under him.

He joined the Hammers when they were in a relegation battle and, after keeping them up, he has delivered European football in three consecutive seasons.

The Scot also guided the Irons to the Europa Conference League final victory over Fiorentina last season to cement himself as one of the most successful managers in the club’s history.

After another strong start to this campaign, Jordan is right that the club are lucky to have him, but he probably wouldn’t be interested in other jobs after his previous experiences in management.

Hopefully, Moyes can now look to continue taking us forward and deliver some more incredible moments like he already has during his time at the London Stadium.
