Simon Jordan: David Moyes time at West Ham United coming to a natural end

Simon Jordan believes that David Moyes’ time at West Ham is coming to a natural end soon and hopes he leaves on his own terms.

The Hammers boss has been under severe pressure for his job after a poor run of form left the club in the relegation zone prior to their 2-0 win against rivals Everton at the weekend helped them climb out of immediate danger.

But speaking on talkSPORT (23 January, 11:29am), Jordan told Jim White and Stuart Pearce that he felt the manager’s time at the club was “beginning to come to it’s end” amid recent speculation and calls from fans for him to leave.

“I think some of the decisions he’s made [in his career], Sunderland, Real Sociedad he’ll look back on and think hmm,” he said.

“United was unfair, but on the whole David Moyes is a very balanced, very fair and very motivated manager.

“I do think there is a natural lifespan, and I do think it’s beginning to come to it’s end at West Ham with David.

“Not wishing it that way, I’m not talking that narrative up. I hope he finds a way to exit West Ham when it suits him, rather than West Ham.

“I like David. I think David is a very decent bloke. And sometimes decent blokes don’t always prosper in football.”

West Ham

Right

For once, Simon Jordan is actually speaking sense here and it’s clear that Moyes’ time at the London Stadium is coming to an end soon.

Moyes has had some incredibly high moments at the club since returning, including the Europa League semi-final last season and finishing as high as seventh place in the Premier League.

But this season, with the club looking to kick on, has has shown his limitations in taking us forward and instead we’ve actually gone backwards under his tutelage.

With one year remaining on his contract after the summer, there is a chance for the club to get there and find a mutual parting of ways between the parties and then kick on moving forward with someone else in charge.

He’s bought himself time with this win and will likely stay until the end of the season, but all roads point towards a divorce sooner rather than later.
