Several clubs in contact to sign veteran West Ham United goalkeeper David Martin

A host of clubs are looking to sign West Ham United goalkeeper David Martin, according to ExWHUemplyee.

Writing on his Patreon on 29 June, the reliable Hammers source has suggested that his former club MK Dons are also keen to take him back.

The 36-year-old “veteran” goalkeeper is likely to extend his playing career for another year.

Time to move on

Martin joined the Hammers in 2019 from Millwall and has managed only five appearances for the club. He didn’t play a single game in the last two seasons.

He had a long career, where he mainly made his name at MK Dons, and was signed by Liverpool as well, although he didn’t feature for the Reds.

It’s time for him to move on. He has lots of offers, but the possibility of returning to MK Dons should appeal to him.

The Hammers are well stocked in their goalkeeping department, and Martin is way down the pecking order.

David Moyes has two quality goalkeepers in Lukasz Fabianski and Alphonse Areola, with the Frenchman joining this month permanently from Paris Saint-Germain.

On top of that, England U20 international goalkeeper, Nathan Trott has extended his stay at the club, and he is more likely to take the third choice role pushing Martin towards the exit door.
