Serie A giants Roma ‘in talks’ to sign West Ham United flop Gianluca Scamacca
Serie A club Roma are “in talks” with West Ham over a move for Gianluca Scamacca, according to talkSPORT.
The striker, who’s previously been wanted by PSG, joined the Hammers from Italian club Sassuolo last summer on a five-year deal worth £35.5million.
But he netted just eight goals in all competitions this season, with just three of those arriving in the Premier League.

“West Ham are in talks with Roma over offloading flop striker Gianluca Scamacca, talkSPORT understands.
”Roma want to take the Italian on loan to cover for injured Tammy Abraham but the Hammers have not ruled out a permanent sale.”

Poor debut campaign
It was a very difficult start to life in England for Scamacca, who failed to find any form of consistency in his debut campaign for the Hammers.
Their poor overall form, of course, didn’t help matters, with several injury issues also preventing the Italian from really hitting the ground running in East London.
It was in stark contrast to his form in Italy, where he was hitting the back of the net for fun not so long ago, and so a return home could help the striker refind that form.
West Ham have a lengthy list of failed striker signings, and they were desperate to avoid another mistake with the summer signature of Scamacca.
But it really hasn’t worked out, and it is now uncertain whether he will be given another season to prove himself, or if he will be moved on in the coming months, with Italy his likely destination.
