Sebastian Hoeness now in running to be West Ham United manager as journalist shares what he’s heard
Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeness is now in the running to replace David Moyes at West Ham United this summer, according to Alex Crook.
The talkSPORT journalist reported on Thursday (25 April) that the 41-year-old who has led the Bundesliga club to the Champions League this season has been spoken about as a potential option for the Irons.
While no official confirmation has emerged from the London Stadium, it has become increasingly likely that Moyes will leave at the end of the season with Julen Lopetegui and Thomas Tuchel also in the race to take over.
Speaking on talkSPORT (25 April, 11:28) he said: “Lopetegui I think we have to say is a contender, there’s been talk of Sebastian Hoeness in Germany and he’s just taken Stuttgart into the Champions League.
“Thomas Tuchel I’ve mentioned to you a couple of times as somebody Steidten thinks he could attract.”
Will West Ham United sack David Moyes and appoint Sebastian Hoeness?
West Ham supporters have said repeatedly that if Moyes was to leave the London Stadium, they would like to see a younger, more attack-minded manager take over in his place to get the best out of the talent in the squad.
Hoeness is exactly that. His Stuttgart side has scored 68 goals in 30 Bundesliga games this season more than the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Frankfurt with striker Serhou Guirassy the division’s second top scorer.

Whether or not the German manager would be tempted by the switch to East London remains to be seen, but Tim Steidten’s links with the Bundesliga would likely make a switch possible if both parties are interested.
The most positive thing for Hammers supporters should be the calibre of manager they are looking at currently. Every name linked with the post so far has a high standing in the game and it seems as though the Irons want to take the next step with Moyes’ replacement.
