Scott Minto: David Moyes must adapt West Ham United style
Scott Minto believes that David Moyes has recruited players at West Ham who don’t fit the style of football that he wants to play at the London Stadium.
The Hammers polished off their transfer business with the marquee signing of Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta after a busy summer for GSBK and everyone at the club.
However, Minto feels that the players that have been signed don’t suit Moyes’ pragmatic management approach.

Talking on the talkSPORT Gameday Podcast[39:34], Minto said: “The issue for Moyes is that he’s added players who are excellent footballers and who will want to dominate the football.
“These players will want 60 per cent of the ball instead of 40 per cent and that’s a big issue, they won’t be happy sitting back on the counter-attack.
“Paqueta is a technically brilliant footballer and even Scamacca, despite being tall, still wants the ball on the ground if possible and wants to play and drop in and makes stuff happen.
“There’s got to be an adaptation of style considering the players they’ve added.”
Patience required
What is absolutely essential for West Ham fans this season is patience and not to worry too much about their position in the Premier League at this early stage in the season.
The Hammers have had some poor starts in the league before, particularly under Moyes, but they have turned it round brilliantly in the past.
It’s important to remember that the Premier League is extremely competitive this season with more teams than ever vying for the European spots.

Brighton and Brentford are the early contenders to provide some real competition for the top six and this isn’t even considering the poor starts that Liverpool and Chelsea have had to their campaigns.
For West Ham to qualify for Europe through their league season will be a lot harder than it was last season so there must be a sense of realism among the London Stadium faithful.
Potentially viewing this season as a transitional campaign and then really looking to kick on next season is probably the most sensible approach for Hammers fans to take.
