Scott Brown blown away by Andriy Yarmolenko record for Ukraine

Scott Brown has been left blown away by the Ukraine record of West Ham star Andriy Yarmolenko on Thursday.

The winger starred once again this afternoon, scoring and assisting as his country picked up their first three points of the EUROs.

Former Celtic skipper Brown couldn’t believe it as Yarmolenko continued to charge towards the record of Andriy Schevchenko.

Speaking on ITV during the half-time break, Brown was thrilled by the anticipation of Yarmolenko as he doubled his account at the EUROs.

“He’s definitely a real danger man, that’s for sure,” he said.

“Yarmolenko has anticipated it really well, as all good goalscorers do. That’s his 42nd goal, it’s a good finish from a tight angle.”

Six more.

Yarmolenko only needs six more goals to catch arguably the best ever Ukrainian footballer we have ever seen.

It may not have happened for him at the London Stadium, but he consistently performs for his country, and there is no doubting his class.

Imagine if that is the sort of form Yarmolenko could bring to the Hammers, we would be laughing, but it never seems to happen.

David Moyes will be keeping a close eye on how he performs, and he could easily force his way into future plans.

It has been described as a make or break summer for the winger, but performances like these could make sure that exit speculation could quickly disappear.

Based on this, there is certainly no harm in keeping Yarmolenko around, but this would be his very final chance in the capital.
