Sassuolo are demanding £42.6million to let West Ham United target Gianluca Scamacca leave the club, according to Sky Sports.

The Hammers are in the market to sign players to strengthen the attacking department ahead of the next campaign.

One of the players they have been linked with is Scamacca and it has been reported that the Irons have already tabled a bid of £34million.

As per the latest report, discussions are still underway despite West Ham still in talk to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

Worth a risk

West Ham had a successful campaign last time around where they finished seventh in the Premier League and also reached the semi-finals of the Europa League where they lost to eventual winners Eintracht Frankfurt.

One of the areas where the Hammers slightly struggled last season was the attacking department where the only out-and-out striker Michail Antonio faced injury concerns and missed some crucial matches.

It is because of this reason manager David Moyes is keen to add as many players in the attack as possible before the start of next season.

West Ham

Despite being heavily linked with Broja, Scamacca will be a brilliant addition to the West Ham squad as his numbers are just too good to ignore.

The Italy international was simply outstanding in the last season where in just 38 matches across all competitions, he managed to score 16 times and provided an assist [Transfermarkt].

All of those goals came in the Serie A which is not an easy league to find the back of the net which shows the kind of quality Scamacca posses in the final third.
