Sami Mokbel states when Lingard future will be resolved amid West Ham links

According to Daily Mail journalist Sami Mokbel, Jesse Lingard is expected to open talks with Manchester United next month, amid reports linking him with a move to West Ham.

The Hammers are eagerly awaiting the green signal from Man United to sign the attacking midfielder, but he is not expected to commence talks with them this month.

With 12 months left on his deal at Old Trafford, this summer is the make-or-break one for the Manchester outfit and a resolution will be reached next month.

Recently, club insiders Claret & Hugh revealed that Lingard could be available for £15-18 million this summer, despite reports suggesting a fee in the region of £30 million.

However, Ex-WHUemployee is not optimistic about the deal happening, stating that Ole is likely to give the player a chance to prove himself next summer and that’s something he is keen on.

Is it worth it?

It’s surprising that Lingard is still considering his future at Old Trafford, given the fact that he was ostracised and rarely given a chance this past season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Having four good months won’t suddenly make him first choice at the club, especially given how well Bruno Fernandes has been playing.

The best Lingard could hope for is getting minutes off the bench there while he would be one of the first names on the team sheet at West Ham.

Due to his performances at the London Stadium, he was in contention to represent England at the EUROs – something that would never have happened had he stayed at Manchester United.

We’re hoping that he realises he’s going to get more playing time here rather than sharing it with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek at Manchester United.
