Said Benrahma becomes ‘big disappointment’ among West Ham United backroom staff amid transfer update
Said Benrahma is on the exit list at West Ham because he has become a “big disappointment” to staff at the club, according to Claret & Hugh.
The Hammers outlet reported via their website on 5 January that the Algerian attacker could now leave with the “backroom powers that be” at Rush Green unimpressed.
French interest has been denied by the club but the former Brentford man is available for the right price this month.

Benrahma, 28, has made 154 West Ham appearances in the past three and a half seasons, scoring 24 times, but he has fallen down the pecking order at the London Stadium with the arrival of first Lucas Paqueta and now Mohammed Kudus and has only featured 13 times in the Premier League this term.
And it now appears that those behind the scenes have run out of patience and are ready to cut the chord.
Flashes
Whether it be David Moyes’ switching him in and out of the line-up or the man himself producing inconsistent form Benrahma has long been a source of frustration at West Ham.
On his day he is as talented as anyone in the squad, but there are too often times where he doesn’t make the impact his ability means he regularly should.
After paying a total of £30million to first loan and then buy him from Brentford [Guardian] he has arguably disappointed for that sort of money.

West Ham now have attacking options that, when fit, will always relegate Benrahma from the starting XI, unless Jarrod Bowen has to play up front, so if there are interested parties then a move may be best for all parties.
His contract still runs until 2026 so the club should be able to ask for reasonable money, even if the price they paid might be wishful thinking based on his record more recently.
West Ham have seemingly been on the brink of moving into a new era for some months now, and any players who aren’t regular performers look to be on the way out.
The news that Moyes is set to stay on potentially confuses that transition but if Tim Steidten is looking to improve the squad either way then peripheral options that could bring in a fee are bound to be at risk of leaving.
In other West Ham news, a transfer update has emerged on one Chelsea ace after months of work by Hammers’ staff.
