Ruud van Nistelrooy told to take perfect West Ham job after Manchester United exit
Rory Jennings believes Ruud van Nistelrooy would be the “perfect” manager for West Ham United and would be the sort of manager that fans “deserve.”
The Dutchman was most recently the interim manager of Manchester United but was relieved of his duties after Ruben Amorim was brought in to replace Erik ten Hag on a permanent basis.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (15 November, 20:47), talkSPORT pundit Jennings shared the reasoning behind why Van Nistelrooy would be an ideal candidate for David Sullivan to consider.
“I think West Ham is actually the perfect club,” Jennings said.
“If you think about what West Ham fans are in need of at the moment, if you think about the way they’re feeling and I think the way they’ve been short-changed by their ownership, I think Ruud van Nistelrooy is a tonic.
“Ruud van Nistelrooy is exactly what they were demanding, that is the sort of appointment that not only demanded but what West Ham fans deserve off the back of their protests about David Moyes leaving the club.
“When West Ham fans were demanding David Moyes out, even before they won in Prague, you know when they were at Fulham with the banner, they were demanding a young, exciting and progressive manager who was in keeping with the traditions of West Ham United.
“That is not Julen Lopetegui, that is Ruud van Nistelrooy”.
Would Ruud van Nistelrooy be a good option for West Ham United?
It comes as no surprise that several different managerial candidates are being linked with the Hammers hot seat after the start to the season that Julen Lopetegui’s men have had.
The Hammers sit 14th in the Premier League and in most of their games this term, have left a lot to be desired.
Granted, their 2-1 win over the Red Devils in October was the final nail in the coffin for Ten Hag’s stint as Manchester United boss but aside from that win, which only came to fruition because of a VAR mistake, the vast majority of West Ham’s performances have been poor.

Van Nistelrooy’s stint as PSV’s manager ended in his side winning the Eredivisie title which shows how strong his decision-making as a manager is.
Only time will tell who will be in charge of the Hammers by the end of the season but on paper, it certainly feels like they could do a lot worse than hiring the Dutchman.
In other West Ham news, sources from the club have confirmed their stance to a BBC chief on where the future of Julen Lopetegui lies.
