Roy Keane disagrees with Gary Neville in West Ham v Crystal Palace prediction

Roy Keane has disagreed with Gary Neville by predicting West Ham can beat Crystal Palace.

The Hammers welcome Palace to the London Stadium on Saturday (18 January) as Graham Potter looks to pick up another three points.

The Irons came out on top against Fulham on Tuesday (14 January) after a 3-2 win and now the East London outfit will be looking to build some momentum.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast (16 January, 57:26), Neville predicted West Ham will not run before they can walk as he said: “They’ve had a good start haven’t they so I’d go with them again. I think he’ll just bring them back down to earth a little bit, one of them where he wins and then everyone thinks he’s going to win and it’s just like a draw do you know what I mean?

“Could be that one couldn’t it? If it’s a draw we’ll go 1-1, 1-1.”

However, Keane countered his fellow pundit’s view by simply replying “2-1 West Ham.”

West Ham prepare for Crystal Palace

This will be a tough game for the Hammers who look to build on their previous victory against a side who aren’t losing many games at the moment.

Furthermore, it will be interesting to see whether the Irons can back up their result against Fulham as inconsistency is something they’ve struggled with throughout the campaign so far.

However, Potter will be keen to build some momentum in his team and at this stage, there are certainly players in that squad who need to prove they are worthy of their place in the team to the new manager.

Playing at The London Stadium again, also against London rivals again, the supporters need to get on side to spur their team on to a result from this match.

A point wouldn’t be the worst result but if they can do as Keane predicts and take all three, supporters will surely be feeling quite optimistic about what the future holds under their new boss.
