Ronald Koeman gives Crysencio Summerville another reason to continue West Ham heroics

Crysencio Summerville is in line to play for the Netherlands after impressing at West Ham United this season.

The Dutch forward scored his seventh goal of the season as the Hammers beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage in the Premier League on 4 March.

Ronald Koeman has now admitted that the Oranje have been keeping an eye on the 24-year-old’s performances this season, with a first call-up to the national side’s senior squad on the cards.

It surely gives the winger yet another reason to continue his heroics at the East London club and possibly make the Netherlands squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Who is Crysencio Summerville competing in the Netherlands squad?

Summerville had a slow start to his campaign at the Hammers, but he’s finally found his feet under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Dutch winger is now one of the key players the Irons have turned to in their bid to avoid Premier League relegation this season.

In recent weeks, the forward has been in mercurial form, with five goals in his last eight English top-flight appearances.

Speaking to the media on 8 March, Koeman said, “A call for Summerville this month is possible. Summerville is in great form at West Ham. He’s an important player in the Premier League, can play on both wings and we’re watching him closely.”

Summerville is likely competing with the likes of Memphis Depay, Donyell Malen, Noa Lang and Cody Gakpo to get into the Netherlands squad.

Xavi Simons has also played on the wings for the Dutch national side, and going by the Tottenham star’s season, the Irons’ forward has arguably been better than him.

West Ham winter addition hopeful of national team return

Taty Castellanos has two caps for the Argentina national team, both of which came in 2024.

The former Lazio forward has failed to make Lionel Scaloni’s team in the last few years, but his displays at West Ham should change minds.

Jarrod Bowen will also be hoping to make Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the 2026 World Cup despite heavy competition for places.

Axel Disasi is another player catching a lot of people’s attention ahead of the summer tournament, giving Didier Deschamps something to think about.
