Robert Snodgrass sends two-word message to Declan Rice as he quits West Ham United

West Ham have sold Declan Rice to Arsenal and former midfielder Robert Snodgrass has sent his ex-teammate a two-word message on Instagram following the move.

The England international left the Hammers on Saturday (15 July) in a deal worth a reported £100million, with up to £5million in potential add-ons.

Rice posted a photo on his personal Instagram account of him wearing an Arsenal kit and his former West Ham teammate Snodgrass responded by saying: “Congrats mate”.

Snodgrass also added a clapping emoji.

No surprise

It’s no real surprise to see Snodgrass congratulating Rice, as the Scottish midfielder was a popular figure during his time at the club and is known for being an all-around nice guy.

He was at West Ham when the 24-year-old was breaking onto the scene and will no doubt be delighted to have seen him reach his potential in recent years and now go on to make a big-money move.

It’s hard to say whether Rice will actually see his message after how many responses the post has received, but he would definitely appreciate it if he does come across it.

It appears as though the Hammers are now quickly looking to move on from the topic, as we prepare to make bids to replace our former captain.

It’s not going to be an easy task, but the money now available should allow us to bring in a couple of quality additions.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are set to make an offer for an England international.
