Robbie Savage delivers worrying relegation prediction for West Ham

There’s no arguing with the fact that West Ham United are in a very serious relegation battle this season, as sad as that fact is.

After 25 games played and with just 13 to go, the east London outfit are marooned in 18th place in the Premier League table.

David Moyes’ side sit just one point from safety, behind Aston Villa, but there’s no doubt that these are worrying times for the Hammers.

The question of ‘will they be able to survive?’ is one that is on every West Ham supporter’s mind at the moment.

West Ham

“18th, in the relegation zone, it’s West Ham,” he said on his personal Twitter account, as he predicted how the bottom of the Premier League table would look at season’s end.

“34 points [his guess-estimate]. They’ve got to play six of the top 10.”

The team Savage predicted to end up in 19th was Bournemouth, while he feels that the bottom club will be Norwich City.

Nervy days ahead for the West Ham faithful.

Will Savage’s prediction prove correct?

It’s impossible to know at this moment in time, but there’s every chance that the Irons could end up playing Championship football next term.

There’s the likes of Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion and Watford who Savage feels will survive, but who could drop into the bottom three at any point. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have problems, as well.

Villa seem like the likeliest out of those sides to replace the Hammers in Savage’s hypothetical bottom three, while Watford sit below them currently so are obvious candidates as well.

Moyes needs to get his team firing soon, though, particularly with all those top teams still to play.

In other West Ham news, a former Hammers defender has called on the team’s fans to end their protests against the board.
