Rob Newman could join David Moyes in exiting West Ham United this summer as behind-the-scenes update emerges

West Ham head of recruitment Rob Newman could leave the club at the end of the season, according to 6foot2.

He could potentially join manager David Moyes in a summer exit, with the boss under pressure in the dugout amid a disappointing campaign.

The Hammers are into the last four of this season’s Europa Conference League, but are heavily involved in a tense Premier League relegation battle.

West Ham

“Rob Newman could find himself out of a job this summer after 18 months at West Ham due to poor returns on recruitment of players over the last year and a half,” according to 6foot2.

“David Moyes could also find his transfer identification role diminished if he stays after the summer for his final year.”

Summer shake-up

It’s been a disappointing campaign for West Ham, who really haven’t lived up to their potential this time around after shining brightly in recent seasons.

The likes of Lucas Paqueta and Nayef Aguerd – who arrived for big money last summer – took plenty of time to settle in East London, with the duo now finally repaying the faith shown in them with some impressive recent performances.

But another arrival in Gianluca Scamacca has failed to hit the heights expected of him, although injuries have impacted his debut campaign in England.

West Ham could yet have a very successful season, with Premier League safety on the cards along with the Europa Conference League trophy.

But it seems that there will be a big shake-up this summer regardless of what happens, particularly when it comes to player recruitment and those pulling the strings in that area.

Plenty of new faces will definitely arrive, but whether Newman and indeed Moyes are there to oversee them remains to be seen.
