Rio Ferdinand has urged West Ham United loanee, Jesse Lingard, to leave Manchester United permanently at the end of this season.
The playmaker has started life at the London Stadium on fire and has already found the back of the net three times in the Premier League.
David Moyes has the Irons challenging for European football this season, and Lingard has taken to that perfectly since arriving from Old Trafford last month.
Speaking on FIVE on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand has warned the Irons that they won’t be the only side interested in the loanee.
“I spoke before about this and said I thought Jesse should close a chapter on Man United because he hasn’t been a part of the squad, he hasn’t been a part of the team for ages,” he said.
“Where we stand right now, I think multiple clubs will bid for Jesse Lingard and he is going to have a choice of many clubs to go to other than just West Ham.”
Lingard has arrived with the perfect attitude.
The England international was getting zero football at Old Trafford, and it is impossible to imagine him fighting his way back into their side ahead of Bruno Fernandes.
The playmaker won’t want to be anywhere but the London Stadium.
One big problem facing the Irons is the lack of a permanent option in this loan deal, meaning the value on Lingard’s head could be rising with each cracking performance.
We are loving his form in the Premier League since arriving, but he may make any potential summer move a very costly one; time will tell.
