Cole defends West Ham captain Noble for Diangana outburst

The exit of Grady Diangana appears to be a distant memory at West Ham United after their positive start to the Premier League season.

After the talented winger joined West Brom in the summer, Mark Noble spoke out at his disgust regarding that decision.

Noble believed that the Hammers board made the wrong call in sanctioning his exit, with other players also agreeing with his outrage.

TalkSPORT pundit Andy Cole has lavished praise on Noble for speaking out, claiming it was the right decision from the club captain.

“He’s concerned about the football club,” he told talkSPORT.

“As well as the team, as well as the teammates and rightly so, he’s the captain, he is Mr West Ham, and he wants the best for West Ham.

“He’s looking at it like if we’re losing a talented player like we are, how are we going to replace him? Forget the money, he’s actually good enough to play in our first-team to make us better.

“I understand where he’s coming from. I thought he did really well speaking as a captain.”

Noble was torn apart by many ex-professionals and pundits for his comments, with most claiming that he should just get on with his job.

Looking at Diangana’s start to the season with West Brom, there is no doubting his talent, but he hasn’t delivered at the beginning of his Premier League career.

Hammers captain, Noble has only started one game this season, the opening day defeat against Newcastle with Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek being preferred.

Noble’s experience is vital and even if he isn’t playing, he will still play a massive role in the dressing room and around the squad.
