Report: West Ham want three deals, looked at player who left club last season

West Ham United want to sign three new players before Friday night’s transfer deadline, according to the Mirror.

It is suggested that the Irons would like to bring in a striker, a midfielder, and also a right-back before the 11 pm cut off point in England.

According to the report, Moyes has his sights firmly set on Salzburg star Rasmus Kristensen. That would be his new right-back, leaving a midfielder and a striker left to get.

Despite suffering losses with the sacking of Manuel Pellegrini, David Gold and Sullivan appear ready to back Moyes.

They could have thought twice though, with it being suggested that the club even looked at a shock move for Marco Arnautovic – something the Coronavirus put a halt too quickly in China.

Hammers fans would surely not want that. The Austrian international forced his way out of the London Stadium and has a history of a shocking attitude at the club as recently as last year.

Moyes is clearly desperate for reinforcements, but he still has to remain smart in his decisions. No fresh striker would leave him with only Sebastien Haller, Michail Antonio, and Albian Ajeti to lead the line.

Haller has only scored six times this season, with Antonio and Ajeti combining for only one. The Swiss international appears to be the real problem – with him being incapable of replacing the injury-prone Antonio.

Ajeti averages a shot every three games according to WhoScored – nowhere near good enough for a player in the Premier League. It is actually a surprise he remains in East London, but with no other striker yet through the door, he could get a lifeline.
