Report: West Ham tell 22-year-old to find new club

There are some players who simply never seem able to make the grade at the top level, and West Ham United youngster Martin Samuelsen certainly appears to fit that description.

The 22-year-old has already embarked on a number of temporary stints away from the club, seemingly serving only to mark time before his eventual exit when his contract expires.

Indeed, Football Insider reported on Saturday that the midfielder has been told by the Hammers to find a new club this month.

West Ham

The Norwegian international has only just returned to the London Stadium from a loan spell in his homeland with FK Haugesund.

His contract does run out at the end of the campaign, and so the Irons are eager to sell him this month if possible.

The youngster’s been linked with Championship side Hull City, as well as teams in Norway and the Netherlands, and will be allowed to leave immediately if something can be finalised.

West Ham Zone’s View

You can see why the east London outfit would be keen to sell Samuelsen this month. It’s their very last chance to make any money on him.

Unfortunately the chances of them doing so appear to be rather slim. It’s probably far more likely that Samuelsen seals another loan spell away and then leaves for nothing at the end of the season.

That would be a fittingly low-key end to a very low-key career in a claret and blue shirt for the Norwegian.
