Report: West Ham eyeing PL winger soon available for nothing
When you think of what West Ham United need in this transfer window, your mind instantly goes to the full back positions, centre half and centre midfield.
However, the team have also struggled in the final third. Sebastien Haller has disappointed, as have attacking midfielders like Manuel Lanzini and Felipe Anderson.
So in some respects it’s not a surprise that the Daily Mirror came out with a report on Wednesday that the Hammers are interested in signing Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser.
Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool have both been linked with the Scotland international in the past.
The Hammers are looking to do a deal for the 25-year-old come the summer, rather than this month, at which point Fraser would be out of contract at the Vitality Stadium.
The Scotland international is thought to fit the younger, more mobile type of player Irons boss David Moyes wants to bring to east London.
Would this be a good deal for the Hammers?
Financially and in terms of the ability of the player this would be an ideal move for West Ham, there’s no doubt about that.
Fraser has had a down year this term, make no mistake about that. He’s got just one league goal and three assists, compared to seven and 14 respectively last season.
However, he’s still a tremendous player who would add a lot to this squad. First things first, though, the Irons need to stay in the Premier League.
In other West Ham news, the east London club have been linked with a move for a Scottish Premiership centre back.
