Report: West Ham express interest in Ligue 1 star
There are numerous areas on the pitch where West Ham United need to improve. From right back to central midfield, they’ve got some work to do.
Ryan Fredericks injury against Gillingham on Sunday has seen right back become a priority, while the Hammers seem to be targeting someone to help Declan Rice and Mark Noble.
However, centre back remains a problem position for the east London outfit. Angelo Ogbonna has been the only reliable option at the heart of the defence this season.
So it comes as no surprise that Le10Sport reported on Tuesday that the Irons have expressed an interest in Amiens centre back Prince Gouano.

The 26-year-old, who can play at right back as well, has recently returned from a long-term injury.
He’s said to have caught the eye of Watford and Newcastle United, as well as the Hammers, with a January exit appearing to be on the cards for him.
West Ham Zone’s View
There’s no problem with West Ham targeting a centre back, particularly if David Moyes is going to continue to play with three of them on the pitch.
If his plan is indeed to keep doing that then he’s going to need more options, because at present he only has Winston Reid behind Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena and Angelo Ogbonna.
The fact that Gouano can play at right back, as well, would appear to make him the ideal candidate, as long as he is fully over the injury issues that saw him miss almost the entirety of the first half of the campaign.
In other West Ham news, a former England international has warned the Irons off a potential swoop for a Championship midfielder.
