Report: West Ham deny PAI Capital have submitted second bid

PAI Capital claimed on Sunday through The Times that they have carefully prepared and submitted a “second innovative bid” for West Ham United.

The consortium said they believe it will be successful and are hoping to be able to “share positive news very soon”, but the club have reportedly denied receiving any bid.

According to Claret and Hugh, West Ham insist PAI Capital’s reported fresh bid is entirely phantom, and the club continue to insist no proof of funds was shown during the first bid.

The club admit the group indeed made an approach in February but it was rejected and no formal bid in the legal sense was ever received.

C and H got a reply from the Hammers on Sunday evening just hours after The Sunday Times published PAI Capital’s claims of a second bid, and it is hard to know who to believe right now.

The London-based consortium took to their official Twitter account last month to claim that they were waiting until after the summer transfer window before returning with a fresh bid.

PAI had seen their first bid of £400million knocked back, and have since brought Tony Cottee, Anton Ferdinand and Rio Ferdinand on board to aid their takeover course.

However, West Ham are now denying that a fresh bid has arrived and PAI are likely to put out a public statement pretty soon.

Clearly, the Irons board are still not keen on selling the club and have continued to make that known.

They insist that the bidders are refusing to provide proof of funds, and that has remained a bone of contention between both parties.

There is no clarity from either party at the moment, and the fans will be hoping things can be cleared up as soon as possible.

In other West Ham news, Stuart Pearce has been blown away by the development of consistent Hammers star.
