Report – West Ham contact agent of 132-cap PL int’l talent
West Ham have contacted Alexis Sanchez’s agent, according to a report from FC Inter News.
The Italian outlet claims that the Manchester United forward, who is currently on loan at the San Siro, will be forced to move again at the end of the season, with Antonio Conte’s men unwilling to consider a permanent move for the Chilean.
The 132 cap international has struggled to have the desired impact in Milan this season, scoring one goal in just nine Serie A appearances.
And it is understood that the Irons could be willing to offer him an escape route from his nightmare time at Old Trafford.
The piece states that talks have already been opened between the Hammers and the 31-year-old’s representatives.
Would this be a good signing for the Hammers?
Do we really need another player like Sanchez in our squad?
Tricky and technically-gifted on paper, the South American has also struggled for form for quite some time now, and seems to lack a certain amount of grit and determination – traits that are desperately lacking in east London too.
Sure, he is a big name, but you cannot afford to sign players based on past glories, and so far this season he has averaged just 3.97 successful dribbles and 1.8 shots on goal per game – far beyond his career averages of 8.35 and 2.78, as per Wyscout.
Even on loan, this deal would likely cost an awful lot, and all things considered, you would be forgiven for thinking that it just isn’t worth it.
