Report: Moyes identifies coach target as West Ham block return of 57y/o
West Ham United boss David Moyes is starting to put the final touches together for his coaching staff.
The new Hammers boss has identified Everton legend Alan Stubbs as an option to join his backroom team at the London Stadium.
The Daily Star has reported that Stubbs is viewed as an alternative to Stuart Pearce after the West Ham board blocked a potential return to the club.
It was revealed that Stubbs has been offered the role of a defensive coach in East London, with the 48-year-old available after leaving St Mirren.
David Gold and Sullivan are suggested to have blocked any potential return for Pearce because of comments made in the media about how the club was being run in recent years.
It will be a big kick in the teeth for Pearce, who was said to be keen on returning to the club to take up the role he had in Moyes’ previous spell at the club.
The Hammers defence is an area that needs sorting too. They have only managed to keep three Premier League clean sheets since the beginning of January.
Having Lukasz Fabianski back was a massive boost for the Irons, but the Polish international was forced off against Sheffield United with a possible recurrence of the hip injury that previously kept him out for three months.
