Report: Fenerbahce keen on signing West Ham ace Andriy Yarmolenko
West Ham attacker Andriy Yarmolenko could be on his way out this summer, amid interest from Turkish club Fenerbahce.
After an impressive performance at Euro 2020, interest in Yarmolenko’s services appear to have heated up, and Fenerbahce are willing to end his drab spell at the London Stadium, according to Sabah.
The Ukranian’s contract runs out at the end of next season and David Moyes does not see him as a part of his long-term plans at the club.
With a contract extension unlikely to be in the offing, this is the last window the Hammers can realistically demand a fee for his services.
We’re not really in a position of any strength when it comes to the Yarmolenko situation so the best thing we can do is try and drum up interest in his services.
After a fruitful Euro 2020 campaign in which he was labelled a ‘King‘ by Jose Mourinho, Yarmolenko is now on vacation in Montenegro with his family.
He will make a decision on his future once he’s back, but he’s likely to part ways with the Hammers this summer.
He moved to West Ham on the back of years of good performances with Dynamo Kyiv and a season at Borussia Dortmund.
He was expected to kick on in the Premier League, having joined at the perfect age, but unfortunately, injuries held back his development and hampered his chances of being a nailed on first-team regular for the Irons.
Having joined for £17.5million [Sky Sports] in 2018, we’re set to make a loss on his transfer as he’s 31 and only got 12 months left on his current deal.
Hopefully, the finances behind this deal are an eye-opener for the club hierarchy as they need to do their due diligence before signing a player for that kind of fee.
There were major red flags going into this deal and we should be avoiding these mistakes in the coming transfer windows.
