Reliable source delivers transfer report on London rival interest in West Ham star

Reliable West Ham source ExWHUemployee has claimed that Chelsea are yet to place a bid for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

The 21-year-old has emerged a target for Frank Lampard’s men, with Sky Sports News reporting that the Blues are keen to snap him up this summer.

But according to Ex, they are yet to firm up that interest with a concrete bid.

Speaking on the West Ham Way podcast, he said: “There was talk of Declan Rice and Chelsea being interested. I think Chelsea, like all big clubs, have been monitoring him for a long time now, and they are interested.

“Obviously, Declan was a big Chelsea fan as a kid, I know they released him so you’d like to think he’d stick two fingers up to them, but he is a massive Chelsea fan.

“It’s all hypothetical at the moment because there has been no bid, it would be silly if these clubs weren’t interested in him. There has been no bid, whether there will be a bid I don’t know.”

What does this mean for West Ham?

It’s a positive, that’s for sure.

Of course, things could change, and there is every chance that the Blues will make a concrete offer at some point, but for now, the longer they stay away from Rice, the better.

So far this season he has averaged a pass completion rate of 90%, as well as a total action success rate of 72% and 5.29 interceptions per game, as per Wyscout.

As a point of reference, Mark Noble has averaged 83.9%, 68.1%, and 2.7 in those areas respectively this season, as per Wyscout.

His work in the centre of the park is massively underrated a lot of the time, and without him, the Hammers would be a much worse side.

Let’s just hope he still an Iron this time next year.
