Reliable journalists shares David Moyes sack decision update as Nottingham Forest defeat could be a ‘disaster’ at West Ham United
A West Ham United defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday 12 November could be a “disaster” for David Moyes and his job position, according to Claret & Hugh.
The reliable Hammers journalists, shared in their article on Friday (11 November) that the 1-0 Europa League win against Olympiacos on Thursday (9 November) was only a “fragile ceasefire” and Moyes will be fully aware of a larger obstacle against Steve Cooper’s resurgent Forest side.
Moyes will know that a Premier League defeat at home on Sunday will not be “offset” by their win over the Greek champions and the West Ham manager will not want to head into the international with his head on the “chopping block”.

Claret & Hugh wrote: “Moyes is no fool and will be acutely aware that a Premier League loss will not be offset by any Euro heroics.
“A defeat against Forest would see West Ham drop below them in the league and possibly as low as 15th, which would be a disaster for Moyes’ hopes of retaining his job.
“That’s why I’m convinced he’ll play his strongest possible team at the London Stadium on Sunday. The win against Olympiacos provided some respite for the Scotsman. However, the knives will be sharpened and aimed should he lose to Steve Cooper’s team. The leaks emanating from ‘club sources’ at West Ham have relented for the time being, but it’s a fragile ceasefire.
“Moyes will not want to go into a two-week international break with his head on the chopping block.”
On borrowed time
With Moyes’ contract at the club running out next summer, that certainly provides David Sullivan and Tim Steidten the welcome ammunition to pull the trigger on his job position should results continue to slide in the Premier League.
The former Manchester United and Everton manager has certainly taken the club as far as he could and it does not have to end badly for them to part ways with the Scotsman.

However, Moyes will be hoping the latter stages of his career in East London remain a very positive one which means results and performances must improve.
Certainly, the Irons may well have grabbed a crucial win over Olympiacos to arrest the pressure on Moyes a bit but the performance was largely a concern on Thursday, with the Hammers looking abject and void of any real attacking urgency at times.
Something has got to change with Moyes’ tactics or else Steidten could well be swayed by the possibility of seeking a more attractive name before the year is out if things don’t improve.
It remains to be seen what the board ends up doing but a Nottingham Forest defeat could well be the beginning of a very hostile end for Moyes.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are now frustrated with a £10m player as a behind-the-scenes revelation has emerged from the London Stadium.
