Reliable club source: £50k-a-week West Ham player set to leave at end of June

David Moyes is unlikely to extend the contract of West Ham United midfielder Carlos Sanchez beyond June.

That’s according to Claret and Hugh, who have reported that the Colombian will most likely leave the London Stadium before the season ends.

The reliable club source have also reported that the Hammers are yet to make a decision on the immediate future of Pablo Zabaleta.

The Argentinian defender would cost nearly £300,000 in wages for that one-month extension, and Moyes could look elsewhere.

Ryan Fredericks is back to full fitness after featuring in the friendly against Queens Park Rangers and Ben Johnson has also been brought into the first-team picture once again.

Should Zabaleta leave at the end of June, he would be the second right-back to leave with Jeremy Ngakia also on the verge of an exit.

It wouldn’t be the end of the world should Sanchez leave the London Stadium. The £50,000-a-week midfielder [Spotrac] has only made six appearances in the Premier League, with only one of those starting.

He hasn’t impressed either, with the South American being dragged off after an hour of his only start in the 2-1 defeat against Leicester.

The 34-year-old has only managed to make one tackle in his 113 minutes according to WhoScored, and ever since Tomas Soucek arrived at the club, his chances of an extended stay beyond this season disappeared.
