Reiss Nelson Arsenal contract update as West Ham transfer news emerges
West Ham are keeping tabs on Reiss Nelson if he decides to leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.
The winger, who’s a boyhood Arsenal fan, has risen through the youth ranks with the Gunners but has struggled to become a first-team regular and is out of contract at the end of the season.
Nelson has enjoyed loan spells at Hoffenheim and Feyenoord in the past and is now weighing up whether to commit to Mikel Arteta’s side or look for a new venture in search of regular football.

The Standard reports that West Ham along with Fulham, Brighton and Champions League semi-finalists AC Milan are among the clubs who are interested in offering Nelson a home away from Emirates Stadium.
Nelson needs a fresh start
It feels like Nelson has been around forever, probably because he was a teenager when he made his Arsenal debut.
At the time, Nelson was being tipped as a star of the future but he falls firmly behind Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in the wide areas, while Leandro Trossard is another option for Mikel Arteta.

Now aged 23, Nelson really needs to be playing week in, week out if he is to live up to his full potential and it is hard to see him getting that with an Arsenal side looking to cement themselves as major players in European football once again.
A move to West Ham would of course see him battling the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma, Manuel Lanzini, and Pablo Fornals for game time but he would surely fancy his chances of making an impact at the London Stadium.
Of course, any move may depend on whether West Ham win the Europa Conference League to secure a Europa League berth next term, with the step up in continental competition perhaps increasing the need for quality reinforcements.
