Real Madrid contact Chelsea over availability of Armando Broja, West Ham United want loan move

Real Madrid have contacted Chelsea over the availability of Armando Broja as West Ham United also remain interested according to The Evening Standard.

The Standard claim that Madrid are looking to offload players and form a group of younger strikers, with Broja being a target.

West Ham did want Broja permanently but it’s understood they’re only able to do a loan deal now after bringing Gianluca Scamacca to the London Stadium.

It has been suggested that Chelsea are not willing for Broja to leave on a temporary basis at present.

Unlikely

A move for Broja does seem unlikely now the Hammers have signed Scamacca.

It’s surprising that Chelsea are not inclined to complete a loan deal with the Hammers after appearing to prefer a temporary move earlier in the summer.

From a West Ham perspective, obviously adding Broja to their ranks will give David Moyes immense depth in forward areas heading into the new season.

However, it would be intriguing to see how Moyes would keep all three of his attacking options happy at the London Stadium.

Broja would only move if he was first choice and the same can be said for Scamacca after his transfer from Sassuolo.

It’s also easy to forget about Michail Antonio who was a mainstay for the Hammers in the 2021/22 season.

Ideally for West Ham, a cheap, young option on loan would be their third striker, but whether Broja would be happy playing that role remains to be seen.

Moyes could potentially look at the Championship with the Hammers continually linked to Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz.
