Ray Parlour raves over Summerville, shares what he did that West Ham fans loved
Ray Parlour has raved over West Ham United ace Crysencio Summerville after the defensive run he put in against Everton in their Premier League clash on 9 November.
The attacker sprinted all the way from the Toffees’ box and put in a last-ditch sliding tackle against Abdoulaye Doucoure in order to stop Sean Dyche’s men from getting the ball in the back of the net.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (22 November), Parlour and Alan Brazil shared their thoughts on the performance of the Dutchman.
“I’ll go back to West Ham last week against Everton,” Parlour said. “Summerville, I was really impressed with him when he played.
“He made a tackle in his own box, he’s run all the way back to make a really important tackle and the fans loved that.”
To which Brazil replied: “Ray, he was the best player at Leeds for me.”
West Ham need to start Crysencio Summerville more often
In recent weeks, Julen Lopetegui has been forced to play Summerville due to the suspension that Mohammed Kudus received for his bust-up in the Hammers’ 4-1 loss against Tottenham on 19 October.
The Dutchman was one of the most anticipated arrivals of West Ham’s window for fans due to the form he showed for Leeds United last season in the Championship.
One of the key areas the Hammers needed to bolster in the summer was their attack and while they’ve managed to do that, Lopetegui still hasn’t found his best starting XI.
Players such as Jarrod Bowen are obviously going to be included in that conversation as he’s arguably been one of their best players this term.

Summerville, while he may not have contributed all that much up top, has had a solid impact on the team since his inclusion and could find himself the answer to the Hammers’ woes.
Only time will tell what the future holds but if Lopeteguo doesn’t; continue starting Summerville, he might as well start packing his bags.
