Pundit makes Aaron Wan Bissaka claim as West Ham United open loan talks with Manchester United
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie has urged West Ham United to avoid a move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka with the 25-year-old currently struggling to get into the Manchester United team.
The Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano has revealed (Here We Go podcast, 19 December) that the Hammers are in contact with United over a potential loan deal for the right back.
However, McAvennie believes the Irons should focus on the right-back options at their disposal instead of looking to add another to their ranks.

“He’s not doing much at Manchester United and he can’t get a game, and if you can’t a get a game there you must be doing something wrong because they’re all over the place,” McAvennie exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“If Moyes thinks he can get the best out of him then you never know. Ben Johnson and Vladimir Coufal haven’t really been performing so I can understand them wanting to bring somebody in but whether it’s Wan Bissaka I don’t know.
“I think if Coufal starts playing well again there’s no way they’ll leave him out, the same goes with Tomas Soucek.
“Wan-Bissaka isn’t one for me anyway. He should be in that Manchester United team considering they’ve been all over the place over the last couple of years.”

Wolves and Crystal Palace are also interested in Wan-Bissaka, as the Red Devils look to move the out-of-form full back on.
Coufal’s future still remains in some doubt with Claret and Hugh (16 December) suggesting he could depart the London Stadium despite having a two-year option on his deal.
