Premier League rivals ramping up Keane Lewis-Potter interest a huge blunder by West Ham United

Brentford have reportedly bid £20million for Hull City star Keane Lewis-Potter and West Ham will regret missing out on the youngster should he move to the Bees.

The Athletic reported on Wednesday 29 June that Brentford have lodged another bid for the attacker, with the Bees confident of securing a deal for the attacker.

The Hammers have held a longstanding interest in Lewis-Potter with 90min reporting on 23 June that the Hammers were in pole position for his signature.

However, it appears that Brentford have overtaken the Hammers, and if so David Moyes and the club hierarchy are seriously missing a trick.

Surely West Ham would’ve seen Lewis-Potter as the ideal candidate to emulate Jarrod Bowen’s remarkable success at the London Stadium.

The 21-year-old has managed 12 goals in the Championship and has become one of the second tier’s hottest properties over the last twelve months.

It’s a surprise the Hammers haven’t pushed harder for the Hull attacker with the Hammers knowing first-hand the success’ recruiting from the Championship can bring.

With Rennes defender Nayef Aguerd and PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola already joining the Hammers this summer, West Ham fans will now be looking for some attacking reinforcements to raise excitement before the start of the season.

The Irons cannot rely upon Bowen and Michail Antonio to be their main source of goals heading into the 2022/23 season.

Bowen was exceptional, but it will be a big ask for the 25-year-old to replicate his 2021/22 campaign and Antonio was hung out to dry at times last season with the 32-year-old being severely overplayed.

Lewis-Potter should’ve been an option Moyes pursued.
