Personal terms almost agreed as West Ham United reach ‘full agreement’ for Danny Ings

West Ham have reached a “full agreement” to sign Danny Ings from Aston Villa, as reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

In his trademark style, Romano wrote ‘here we go’ on Twitter (19 January) which indicates that the deal is as good as done. Personal terms with the player are almost agreed while the full package is close to £15m with add-ons included.

The 30-year-old will now undergo his medical, as the Hammers are close to securing their first signing of the January transfer window.

“West Ham have reached full agreement to sign Danny Ings from Aston Villa, full package close £15m add-ons included. Personal terms almost agreed, here we go,” wrote Romano.

“Medical tests scheduled in order to get the deal signed soon.”

Brilliant addition

Ings will be a brilliant addition to the side.

He is a proven Premier League goalscorer and will add tremendous quality to the Hammers’ squad.

The striker has managed six goals in eight starts for Villa this season, but he has dropped down the pecking order under Unai Emery.

West Ham are struggling for goals upfront despite adding Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo in the summer on a big-money deal.

West Ham

ExWHUemployee reported on 18 January that Scamacca could miss a chunk of action through a knee injury and Moyes may have anticipated the danger.

It will be a big blow for the club if he is ruled out for a month, but Ings could be a readymade replacement.

Ings is a natural finisher and let’s hope he will continue to maintain his impressive scoring form at the London Stadium.

It remains to be seen if Ings’ arrival will pave the way for Michail Antonio’s potential departure.

Everton have reportedly shown interest in signing Antonio this month [TalkSPORT, 16 January], but Moyes probably won’t sell him this month.
